Daniel Thomas
In 1996, Daniel began his carpentry apprenticeship with a commercial builder. Due to a downturn at the time, he moved to another builder and spent 13 years working his way up to becoming a site supervisor and estimator. Encouraged by his ex-employer, Daniel pursued additional study and in the mid-2000s completed his Diploma of Building, Medium Rise, which enables him to construct up to 3-storey buildings. Seeking to enhance his skills, he took on various supervisory roles with other builders, in both commercial and residential building, gaining a wealth of knowledge and on-site experience through practical application. In 2018, Daniel ventured out on his own, establishing Abode Building Contractors.
Doug Robertson
Having started as a Building Designer at an established architectural firm in Rockhampton in 2009, Doug worked on residential and commercial projects. He focuses on sustainable architecture to optimize home orientation, streamline building practices, enhance energy efficiency, and reduce waste. After taking a break from designing to pursue other interests, Doug has recently returned to drafting. He has a keen interest in finding innovative ways to integrate technologies into building projects and is always striving for excellence in design and implementation.
